Along the Adriatic Sea, I walked through an abandoned camp where refugees had landed. There were many, many remnants of their lives left behind. Hope lies not in the remains, but in these people`s strength, courage, and willingness to rebuild wherever they go. I created this piece with found objects from the camp, not to lament what was left, but to honor the spirit the refugees took with them. |
