Metamorphosis
► Aging On • Sherri Lipman McCauley |
I like to work extemporaneously and in the abstract. Bright colors, geometry, and asymmetry excite me. The simple line of a geometric shape, the blast of a colorful line, or the contrast of black against white makes my canvas sing. After a visit with my aging parents, I began to reflect on the serendipity of life and death, youth and aging. Life prevails over death, just as youth prevails over aging. I represent this as youth, and the colorful years fade to grey. |
