Guns: Loaded Conversations
► (White) Silence is Violence • Mary Vaneecke |
The title of my piece is a phrase that grew out of the Black Lives Matter movement. The notion is complex. At its heart is the idea that white people cannot ignore the behavior of police officers against African Americans without being complicit in that behavior. My goal was to illustrate this complexity in a modern minimalist style with converging quilt lines along a 'thin blue line.' |
