My aim is to create paintings where these two elements coalesce in a new vision. Watercolor-like washes or blending of acrylics, under and over painting cover my hand dyed fabric. I especially enjoy working intuitively, letting the work speak in its own language and responding to it spontaneously. In this process, I work in a non-objective and experimental style as it frees me to be immediate, direct, and in the moment. Although I enjoy abstraction, my work is based on nature. The large rock formations surrounding my home are most often the starting point for my collages.t |
